Let’s Tour Kuala Lumpur! (Part 1 of 2)

In life, we encounter many firsts. First steps, first words, first loves, first everything. This is about my first trip outside the Philippines. Destination: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Last June 2011 marked the first time my passport was stamped. I hitched the trip with Kaye and her office mates to Kuala Lumpur, home of the tallest twin towers in the world, the Petronas Towers. I was particularly excited about the trip since I was the only one who didn’t have prior overseas experience (spell noob).

We arrived at KLIA budget terminal (LCCT) at around 1:30AM and immediately rode the bus to KL Sentral. The airport is far from the city center as the bus ride took an hour. From KL Sentral, we took a cab to Swiss Inn, our home for the duration of the trip.Tip: You may want to exchange for enough Malaysian Ringgit (for the bus and cab fare) at the airport since KL Sentral isn’t 24 hours operational. However, money changers along Chinatown or Bukit Bintang offer the best rates.
